Stallone try out some of the cargos she had taken along and he obliged

Bollywood hunks revelling in the ‘Fit at 40’ image, eat your hearts out! There’s Hollywood toughie Sylvester Stallone, the 62-year-old, comeback star of the Rocky and Rambo films last year, with an extraordinary 32-inch waist! This is andar ki baat, accurately revealed to BT by Bollywood designer Shabina Khan who took the tape to Stallone in LA. Shabina, who has fitted out Bollywood’s biggest from Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar to Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan, was getting Stallone’s measure to style him accordingly for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kambakht Ishq. A Rocky and Rambo fan, she described the meeting with the legendary actor as “a feeling of pure exhilaration”. Shabina said, “The thought that I was going to style Stallone’s outfits was something else.” In Hollywood, the desi designer revealed, the stars leave everything to the wardrobe consultant. “I had to be completely prepared. I took a couple of suits and some casual outfits for Stallone to try on,” she added.

For his cargo look in the film, the actor told Shabina that he was most comfortable in a pair he wore in Rambo that he considered lucky for him. Incredibly, the pants still fit him though Rambo was made in 1982 when Stallone was 36 and had a 29-inch waist. For the record, the star’s chest is 50 inches, he has 18-inch biceps and when in good form he has a body fat percentage as low as 4.5.

But Shabina insisted that Stallone try out some of the cargos she had taken along and he obliged. “He was very happy with them and decided to wear one of mine,” said the designer who also gave Stallone a hooded jacket, a pair of jeans and a formal suit (US size 54) for his scenes in the film. Dressing up Stallone was the most fun though Shabina’s portfolio on the film sets in Universal Studios, LA, also included Akshay Kumar and actor Brandon Routh (of Superman Returns fame). “I also designed Snoop Dogg’s headgear,” she added. “Now I hope someday to get the chance to design for Brad Pitt.”
