Ashutosh had signed Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra before Love Story 2050 released. The director however was apprehensive about his choice after Love Story tanked and so did Harman’s next film Victory. But Ashu can’t help but rave about Harman and Priyanka’s performance in the film saying,

“They’ve done complete justice to the script, Harman has done a fantastic job and I couldn’t have asked for another actor to play his part. Priyanka on the other hand has only proved that she is a versatile actress, playing all 12 characters as unique and different from each other.”

Gowarikar was unfazed when the news of the break of Priyanka and Harman began to make the news, “They are too professional to have brought their personal issues on set.” Considering this is Harman’s make or break film, the director feels the same for himself as he has entered new territories as well, he made it clear well before that the romantic genre was not his thing. This being the reason that his next film is yet another period film based on author Maninee Chatterjee’s Do and Die - The Chittagong Uprising.

Abhishek Bachchan has been signed in to play Surjya Sen and Ashutosh felt he was perfect for the film right after he conceptualised his character. Ashu still has to rope in the female lead for his film and lets wait and watch who he signs opposite AB junior!
