Michael Douglas has signed on Indian art director Nitin Desai film

Hollywood star Michael Douglas has signed on Indian art director Nitin Desai for his film ‘Palace on Wheels’.



The movie, to be shot in India, is about a heist aboard a luxury train called Palace on Wheels. Michael was in India a few months back for a recce of possible shooting locations for the film. It was during this visit he reportedly met and signed Bollywood ’s ace art director Nitin Desai.


Nitin has done art direction in a number of period dramas and contemporary thrillers.


For Douglas’s film, Nitin will recreate an entire luxury train at his ND Studios in Karjat. Though the task is daunting, Nitin is confident of getting it right.


The art director still has a good many months to go about his job, because Michael Douglas reportedly plans begin the film’s shoot by the last quarter of this year, probably in October.


‘Palace On Wheels’ (previously titled Racing the Monsoon ) will be on the lines of Douglas’s actions thrillers like ‘Romancing the Stone’ and ‘The Jewel of the Nile’. The movie will in all likelihood also star his wife Catherine Zeta Jones, who has already expressed her wish to come to India.
