A Hindi language author Hari Kishore has slapped a legal notice on ‘Percept Picture Company’, the distributor of ‘Jumbo’, accusing them of having lifted the story from one of his books.

According to reports, Kishore is all set to approach the Mumbai High Court in order to get a stay on the film’s release.

Apparently, the movie is based on Kishore’s ‘Shikari’ series and the author is claiming that even the names of certain characters in the movie are derived from his book. Since the producer and distributor have still not responded to the author’s notice, he is contemplating on moving the court very soon.

Jumbo, which has Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar lending his voice to the central character ‘Jumbo’, is based on the life of a baby elephant who longs to be with his father. The film was originally made in Thai and is produced and directed by Kantana Animation and Kompin Kemgumnird.
