Salman Khan’s staunch loyalty to the people he is close to is well known in the industry. Whether it’s co-stars, producers or directors, Salman has always stood by his friends in their time of need. It is also known that Salman agreed to star in the sequel to Andaz Apna Apna that has been in the pipeline for a while. So what’s the connection, you may wonder.
Well, we now hear that the entire sequel plan came about because of Salman’s penchant for standing by his friends. Veteran producer Vinay Sinha had been going through a bad patch for a while and approached Salman to do a film. Salman readily agreed, and after much deliberation, it was decided that a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna - released in 1994 and nominated for four major awards - should be made. Salman and Vinay (who was the producer of Andaz Apna Apna) had lengthy discussions about the script. The original film had been directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and starred Salman, Aamir Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon.
The sequel got a shot in the arm with Salman and Aamir reviving their friendship recently. Vinay says, “Yes, I approached Salman and he agreed immediately. I was touched by his gesture. I plan to approach Rajkumar and Aamir now. I hope everything works out fine.”
