Child stars of 'Slumdog Millionaire' Azharuddin Ismail and Rubina Ali narrowly escaped a fire in one of the slum areas of Mumbai, where they reside.More than 200 slum homes were burned down and 15 people injured in the blaze, which started at very early in the morning at 4 a.m. on Thursday.
Azharuddin's home was about 30 metres when the blaze was brought under control. This popular ‘Salim’ of Slumdog Millionnaire said that they were woken up very early to the sound of explosions. The residents reported that this was due to the gas cylinders that were exploding due to the heat and this is what delayed to stop the fire.
Rubina, the little girl who played young Latika in the movie was also safe as the fire did not reach her part of the slums.
