Raja Ravi Varma had been accused of unethical paintings depicting Hindu gods, and he was arrested for his works.
Randeep Hooda plays Raja Ravi Varma's role in the film. Sugandha's role is enacted by Nandana Sen. The passion prevalent in the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma is portrayed in the film as well.
