PHOONK is a very scary film, but the fear element is not just on the surface level

Phoonk

Without a shred of doubt, BHOOT is Ram Gopal Varma’s finest work in the horror genre till date. The film which featured the then oomph girl, the ‘Rangeeli’ Urmila Matondkar and action Devgan, presented them in a totally new avatar, thereby highlighting their versatility.

Quite a few of the fans of the film who were chilled and thrilled by it feel that Varma’s upcoming directorial venture, PHOONK, has a strong resemblance to BHOOT. Is that the case? Well, let us find out what the person at the helm of affairs, Ram Gopal Varma has to say!

Says the iconoclastic filmmaker, ”PHOONK is a very scary film, but the fear element is not just on the surface level like for instance in a film like BHOOT. Here it seeps into you and plagues your entire belief system, thereby making you highly vulnerable and will also put you in an emotional state, wherein you would start fearing the most inane objects which you would normally take for granted in the daily course of life.”

Well, we must admit that Varma has a point, in fact a number of them!
