An imposter created a fake Sushmita Sen Facebook account

Thanks to numerous social networking sites, Bollywood celebrities are fast losing their identity on the World Wide Web! One of the latest victims of fake social networking site is Sushmita Sen who was literally appalled when she came to know that an impersonator was duping her fans in the name of charity.


According to the latest Bollywood news, an imposter created a fake Sushmita Sen Facebook account and asked her fans for donations. While talking to a news daily, the stunning diva fumed at the audacity of her impersonator and said, “It’s not a game. For this gentleman or lady, whoever he or she might be, charity obviously begins and ends at home. My impersonator has even opened an account where charitable Facebook participants can donate money.”

The actress was simply not amused and admitted the fact that her not being net-savvy should not be taken for a ride as she continued, “I’ve been smiling a little indulgently at all these fake Sushmita Sens on Facebook and Twitter. I thought as long as they were not harming me, let them have fun. But now when someone decides to open a charitable account on my behalf it’s time to seriously get up and do something to stop people.”

By the way, when Sushmita’s friends called her up to enquire about the charity, the damsel was completely unaware of her fake profile, which duped her naïve fans. A shell-shocked Sushmita said, “I was zapped! I was like ... huh! I do love giving to charitable causes. But not in this tacky way. Whoever has the nerve to ask for money and open a website for the purpose trusted in my charitable instincts a bit too much.”

However, Sushmita strongly feels that fake identities are one of the biggest menace on internet should be curbed as, “If you have a name that people can use then these things are bound to happen. So far I didn’t mind my name being used by others. But now let me make it very I am not on Facebook, Twitter or anything. And I’m certainly not into asking for money for charity on the internet. Hey guys, that’s not me!”

Bollywood actress katrina kaif is most suited to play Alice in the desi version

If a poll was conducted asking which Bollywood actress is most suited to play Alice in the desi version of ‘Alice In Wonderland’, we’re sure Katrina Kaif would win hands down. But director Shashanka Ghosh, who made the delightful and quirky Quick Gun Murugun, hasn’t yet finalized the leading lady of his adaptation of the famous book by Lewis Carroll.

Katrina Kaif, Sonam Kapoor and Soha Ali Khan are reported to be under consideration for the role.

Ghosh will contemporize ‘Alice In Wonderland’ into an Indian setting. Alice of the book will become Alisha in the movie. While Ghosh plans to stay loyal to the book in his adaptation, he would add another character of a school teacher (modeled on the book’s author) in the movie.

The director hasn’t yet finalized the leading actress but he wants someone who is “sexy” and has “childlike bewilderment”.

The movie will have lots of special effects and Ghosh wants to make it at a par with international fantasy flicks like ‘Harry Potter’ movies or ‘The Lord of the Rings’.

Alice In Wonderland is the story of a bored girl who follows a rabbit through a burrow and falls right down through a tunnel into another world where she shrinks to a smaller size and later turns into a giant. She meets several strange animals and creatures in this magical world.

Shahid Kapoor's speech defect the fashion statement

Shahid Kapoor’s speech defect in KAMINEY is now a fashion statement, and is being copied by the young and old. The actor not only essayed both his speech defect roles (a news that we broke, as usual, on April 14 - Shahid stammers when nervous! ) to perfection, but with the cute way in which he spoke, he won all the hearts, and we can now hear many trying to emulate his style by substituting ’s’ with ’f’.

School children, and especially the youth have picked up his style and made it into a fashion statement. We have had fans emulating hairstyles, dresses and walking, dancing styles of their favourite actors, but this is the first time in the history of cinema that the mannerisms relating to speech defect are being aped by so many.

In fact, people even go to the extent of calling out to Shahid when they see him, by asking, ’Arre, Fahid, kaifa hai tu yaar?" and Shahid simply enjoys all the attention. Recently, in an interview to a leading daily, he admitted that it was really very nice to know that people find him synonymous to his character of Charlie in KAMINEY.

Well, Shahid it’s your charm that has ensured that your latest Eid release, DIL BOLE HADIPPA, has shown decent collections, despite a super strong challenger in the form of Salman Khan’s much hyped WANTED. Way to go, man.

Sanjay Gupta's terrific music sense in ACID FACTORY

Sanjay Gupta’s terrific music sense hasn’t got its due in Bollywood. The man is right up there with the Bhatts and Chopras when it comes to consistency. Right from Kaante all of his films have had some very stylised but extremely innovative songs. But his real strength lies in getting his composers to marry melody with technique. Which is why even cabbies love Ishq Samundar and Ganpat. Gupta loves his trance and electronica. And those trademark Gupta influences are evident in Acid Factory also.

Acid Factory opens with a bang. Yeh Jism is a dark and disturbing number composed with the mad energy of a club song. The singers Anchal Dutta and Raaj do a great job by varying their voices with the changing moods of the song. Shamir Tandon’s skillful play with instruments creates a haunting effect that stays long with the listener. Full marks for Yeh Jism. Nikhil Chinappa’s remix does full justice to the potential of this song. This is one that can test the best of sound systems.

Next up is Mansi Scott’s Khatti Meethi. Composed by Mansi herself, this is a Britney Spears-Beyonce inspired pop diva routine. But despite those influences Khatti Meethi has a nice tune. This one has fusion of English and Hindi lyrics that go well with the song.

The original disco king Bappi Lahiri’s son Bappa Lahiri gets a chance to spin some music in Kone Kone. Vasundhra Das makes a playback appearance after a long time in this number. Das’s slightly husky voice takes Kone Kone to new heights. Though not instantly catchy, this one grows slowly. The haunting tune comes into its own in the remix. Guest artistes K&G gets the Kone Kone Lounge Mix spot on.

Shamir Tandon is back with Raftaar. He once again ropes in the Yeh Jism singers. This time, it’s less tune and more sound. There’s a lot of wizardry happening in the background music of this one. But somehow it fails to create any impact.

And now the big surprise. Chor Chor, Jab Andhera Hota Hai - a classic Rajesh Khanna number from Raja Rani is remixed into a zingy, jet-age version. A brilliant adaptation by Gourov Dasgupta, who did something similar for Aa Dekhen Zara - Jab Andhera is an example of why remix or no remix - classics will remain classics. While the tune doesn’t need any introduction to music buffs, Jab Andhera is a respectful tribute to the original.

True to its name, Acid Factory’s music is edgy, stylishly arranged and extremely high on beats. It’s also got some refreshingly new voices. The album’s eventual success will depend a lot on how the movie fares.

Verdict: Like most of Gupta’s soundtracks, the songs of Acid Factory should be played in clubs long after the movie’s theatrical run.

Ram Gopal Varma and Ajay Devgan met up at Kadaikudi

Ajay Devgn and Ram Gopal Varma met up at Kadaikudi last week and patched up after a two-year gap. They even have discussed doing a film together.

After the release of RGV Ki Aag, the actor was upset with the director, as he felt that what was narrated and what had appeared on the screen were totally different. The actor felt that Ramu had paid more attention to his heroine Nisha (now Priyanka) Kothari and had sidelined his character.

The frosty relationship between Ramu and Ajay was further exacerbated due to certain misunderstandings created by Ajay’s business manager Kumar Mangat Pathak.

Over the years, Ramu attempted to patch things up many times. He offered to meet up with Ajay over dinner a few times, but the actor backed out every time at the last moment. After some time, the director gave up trying to mend bridges.

Breaking the ice
Recently, they came face-to-face in Kadaikudi. This was the first informal meeting they had in two years. Ramu had dropped in to meet Surya (who is shooting with Ajay) to discuss dates for his next film Rakta Charitra.

Initially there was awkwardness between Ramu and Ajay but as the day progressed, they were back to their old equation. When Ramu asked Ajay why he hadn’t kept in touch, he brushed it off saying he’d been busy shooting his home production and other films.

The source adds, "Now Ramu is keen to do a film with Ajay, who has promised to read his script after returning to Mumbai. After giving hits like Company and Bhoot, Aag ruined things for this hit actor-director jodi. But now they are back together and planning something big."

Sameera Reddy been undergoing to upper lip surgery

Sameera Reddy sparked rumours when she appeared at the Fashion Week with a plumper upper lip than usual. The apparent surgery is the latest step in the line of makeovers (gone are her curves, and she now sports an extra-skinny avatar) that she has been undergoing to revamp her acting career.

The actress denies having her lips enhanced, "I haven’t done anything to my lips! Are you joking?" A friend of the actress adds, "Sameera hasn’t done any lip surgery. It’s because she has lost weight drastically in the last three months that her face looks more chiseled and lips fuller.

Sam has a natural pout and because her features have got accentuated her lips are looking plumper. Sam is extremely confident and happy with what she is gifted with and would never adopt artificial means."

Mallika Sherawat brushing shoulders with Brad Pitt

Seems that Bollywood has lost its bombshell Mallika Sherawat to Hollywood completely for the babe is being seen more at Hollywood’s prestigious events than in Bollywood’s desi events. It has just been a few weeks when she was seen brushing shoulders with Hollywood’s who’s who on the red carpet for the Brad Pitt starrer ‘Inglourious Basterds’.

Now the sex siren has proudly announced on her Twitter page that she has been invited to the premiere of Jane Campion’s ‘Bright Star’ in Los Angeles. Mallika added on her twitter page that she adores Jane Campion’s critically acclaimed film ‘The Piano’.

For her desi fans she tweeted on to say that she plans to return to India very soon, but only for a few weeks it seems. Currently, she is keeping her fingers crossed for her maiden Hollywood venture, Hisss, which she revealed is in the editing stage and is set for release later this year.
