Rakhi Sawant doesn't have a good grip on English!

Instead of hosting a grand party following his win on "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar", 30-year-old Elesh Parujanwala is busy arranging a Canadian visa for his fiancee Rakhi Sawant, so that they can attend his sister’s wedding together in Toronto.

"I’m heading back to Toronto soon. As of now, I am busy trying to arrange a visa for Rakhi. My sister is getting married on August 16 and it would be really great if both of us would be there. It would be like twin celebration for my family, " Elesh, who was the only NRI contestant on Rakhi’s ’swayamvar’, told over phone from Mumbai.

Last year Elesh set up an acting academy with his business partner in Kandivali, Mumbai. But soon "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar" came up and he decided to "probe into the real Rakhi Sawant" through the show.

"Nothing was planned about coming on the show. I guess, I happened to be at the right place at the right time -- that’s all. Everyone had an opinion about her and I wanted to find out who she really is, " said Elesh, a Gujarati settled in Toronto.

So what did he find out?

"Rakhi aces all the categories that I ever wanted in my woman. She is simply genuine and I love that about her. When I saw her first, she looked stunning and gorgeous, " he said.

Elesh, who was among 16 aspirants who came to court Rakhi on NDTV Imagine’s reality show, says it feels "amazing" to have been chosen as the "ideal groom". But he wants to wait before he ties the nuptial knot with Rakhi.

"We have decided to spend sometime together off the camera and know each other better. We have gotten engaged as of now, but there’s still time before we get married, " he said.

And before the bride and groom do that, they need to brush up their English and Hindi language skills respectively. While Elesh manages to speak broken Hindi and a bit of Gujarati, Rakhi doesn’t have a good grip on English.

Won’t communicating be a problem?

"I can understand a bit of Hindi. And I mix up the vocabulary a bit, besides stumbling upon certain words, I’ll get a hang of it soon. As far as Rakhi is concerned, I can help her with her English -- she can help me with Hindi-- and it would be a team effort. Together, I think we would make a good ’Team Toronto’, " he quipped.

Salman and SRK speak on Emraan's issue

Emraan Hashmi recently came up quite strongly about the fact that he was denied a flat in Mumbai’s Pali Hill area becaue he is a Muslim.

He went public about the communal bias fiasco. We have muslims ruling Bollywood in Mumbai for years and this is what they had to say: “Emraan Hashmi would not have been Emraan Hashmi if Mumbai was not secular.If communalism existed then Salman Khan would not have been Salman Khan, Aamir not Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh not Shah Rukh Khan. Injustice may have happened to others, but it has not happened to us. I have always got love and support from all quarters.” said Salman Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan also voiced his opinion in this matter, “I have never been treated differently because of my religion. I am 44 years old now and never in my life have I felt discriminated.It is a one-off incident and should not be given too much importance. We are a fast growing nation and the reason for our development is the fact that we have overcome the barriers of religion, castes, class in our hearts and minds. We should not let these small incidents affect us.”

Harleen of Love Aaj Kal is a Brazilian model

Every person who has watched Love Aaj Kal is all ga-ga over the innocent looking Punjabi girl opposite Saif. Guess what, she is a Brazilian model named Giselle Monteiro who couldn’t even speak Hindi when she started off!

Director Imtiaz Ali says, “She is actually a Brazilian girl named Giselle Monteiro. Why a Brazilian girl to play an old-fashioned Punjabi girl? Well, I was auditioning girls from all over the country to play the Punjabi girl opposite the Sikh Saif. I couldn’t find the right girl to play the 1965 ki ‘gali mein rehne wali ladki, purane zamane ki’.”

“Giselle came to me through dress designer Anaita Shroff. She was to play Jo, Saif’s Caucasian girlfriend in the second half. She wasn’t right for Jo.I turned and looked at Giselle and realised she is Brazil’s Harleen.”

Giselle had no idea about Bollywood dancing either, Imtiaz Ali adds, “We wanted to put her through the paces with Saroj ji (choreographer Saroj Khan), but it never happened. Saroj ji didn’t have the time. For a foreigner to get the Indian ‘adaa’ right is very tough.”

She did it all and she did it well!

Rakhi gets engaged on Rakhi Ka Swayamvar

Rakhi Sawant finally found her ideal groom in Toronto-based businessman Elesh Parujanwala. The couple exchanged rings and garlands as on the grand finale of her show Rakhi Ka Swayamwar.

One of the sources reported: “Romance was high in the air as Rakhi and Parujanwala said ‘I Love You’ to each other while exchanging rings and vows during the glittering ceremony attended by the boy’s family members, besides noted choreographer Saroj Khan and celebrities from the TV world."

Before the engagement, Rakhi said in an interview, “I’m not getting married, now. I’m selecting someone from the show to be my life partner. It’s more of an engagement.”

When asked why Rakhi chose Elesh over other finalists Manas and Chittiz, she said, “Elesh is honest.”

Besides Rakhi's hunt coming to end, this finale gave NDTV Imagine its highest TRP ever, since its launch in January 2008.

Salman somehow was more impressed with producer Naseer Khan

Salman Khan, who is well-known for not leaving a single opportunity to take a jibe on anyone, was surprisingly all praise for the newly turned producer actor Naseer Khan. Naseer despite being blind in real-life has played the role of a sharp shooter and car mechanic. Salman somehow was more impressed with producer Naseer Khan than actor.

Comparing him with the other top-notch producers in the industry today, he applauded the honesty in Naseer as a producer. “I respect Naseer, for he did not use his disability to make a fool of people associated with his film, which he could easily do. Unlike others producers who are always ready with some or the other excuse to escape from paying the money, Naseer has be a real gentleman,” says the star.

Well, after listening to all this, is Salman really upset with the producers or was he trying to be nice to debutant producer? Anyway, it is the fate of the film which is going to make difference in Naseer’scareer and not some peppy comments. Ain’t we right on that Salman?

Katrina Kaif & Kareena Kapoor seem to have become friends again

As Friendship’s Day is coming near, its friendship time in Bollywood. The hottest divas Katrina Kaifand Kareena Kapoor seem to have become friends again. But this time their bonding can surely be attributed to Katrina’s recent flattering comments about Bebo’s professionalism.
