Salman and Shah Rukh - Never together again

Salman comes up once in a while with a renewed controversy. Probably that’s what keeps him shining and popular in the limelight. “Jiska press nahi hota, uske fans hote hain,” believes Salman.

Speaking on his latest movie Dabangg, he is all praises for Sonakshi. “Sonakshi has done the film as if she has done 100 films before.”

Well, now comes a more serious and scary part from Sallu bhai. He was asked if his good bonding with Aamir Khan was due to his rivalry with SRK. He immediately got back by saying, “Shahrukh and I don’t talk anymore. We had misunderstanding and hence parted ways.” He also added, “There is no chance of Shahrukh and Salman coming together in future.”

But Sallu bahi, don’t you miss the good old days? “Shahrukh meri girl friend nahi thi……apni purani girlfreind ko miss nahi karta, Shahrukh ko kya karunga….” Wow!

Salman praises his juniors

Salman has always been appreciated for promoting and encouraging new talent in Bollywood, be it heroines or music directors. But we also respect him more for being so

positive towards male newcomers.

He is all praises for Ranbir and Imran. “I think Ranbir is very good. I have seen their films, I think these guys, Ranbir and Imran are terrific”. “Imran is adorable and Ranbir

has a lot of talent” he added. Though the rumors say that Ranbir kind of stole Katrina away from him, Salman sounds to be far above all this. No doubt he has a big heart!

News says that Salman breaks up with Katrina

In an interview to TV channel Headlines Today, Salman Khan has strongly suggested that he has broken up with Katrina Kaif.

Apparently in an interview with Headlines Today, Salman Khan has said that he has parted ways with Katrina Kaif. "I have broken up with Katrina. We were friends then for everybody, we are friends now," said Salman.

“…there are different interferences, the parents perhaps or the interference of anything,” he said, adding, “it's just two people not getting along; something that obviously does not end peacefully. But if you can manage to stay friends, there is nothing like it.”

Katrina also recently told in one of her interviews that she is still looking for a partner. This also goes to hint the same thing. Do you think they have really broken up? And if they had, is Salman the kind to remain friends with his ex-girl friend? Hard to believe!

Salman connects well with the police

The 44-year-old Bollywood hunk will be seen as a police officer all over again in Dabangg. “I think because my grandfather was deputy inspector general (DIG) of police, Indore, I have this special thing for the cops. I have also shared a very long relationship...!” said Salman Khanwith a laugh. Some of his earlier movies in a similar avatar have been Wanted, Garv and Auzaar.

The actor also had some run-ins with the law and spent time in jail in 2002 after his car allegedly ran over four people sleeping on a footpath. He once again went behind bars in 2007 in Jodhpur on charges of hunting an endangered deer.

Talking about his being so down to earth, he says, “When you think that you are a normal person, you are not a star; then you don't get impressed by your image that 150, 200 or 500 people have created and crores of people have appreciated that image; if you don't believe in that image of yours and you know for a fact that is not you but a created thing, you will be fine. If you start believing in that image of yours, then you are done with."

Getting to the Dabangg image wasn’t that easy. "I lost a lot of weight and then it looked weird. You are playing a cop who is totally ribbed. I really wanted to look ribbed in the film," said Salman.

"I had just finished Veer and I had to cut my hair very short... I didn't want to. The long hair was looking good. It took so long to grow them; so I didn't want anyone to cut them off."

About sporting his moustache, Salman said: "Five-six months before the film, Arbaaz used to come with different kinds of moustaches every week. I said I'm shooting for a film, can I grow a moustache...Somewhere Sonakshi also had this thing for her dad's moustache. If you see my moustache, it's somewhat like his only," he laughed.

Funnily, Salman is seen doing some really weird dance steps in the songs of Dabangg. Why is that? “Actually in this film, I copied everyone who can't dance. There is a nightclub-dancing style, there is one dancing style when you are in a function, and one dance is when you are drunk and enjoying yourself. This film is dedicated especially to those people who can't dance," he answered humorously.

Salman inspires and encourages his co-star

If you are looking for a subtle and positive link between Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of the popular Shatrughan Sinha, then here is what you should know.

It was Salman Khan who encouraged Sonakshi Sinha to step into under the spotlights and chart out a career for herself. It was Salman who inspired her to lose weight while taking her on long walks during the shoots. It is Salman who inspires Sonakshi to give her best to every shot.

Sonakshi is stepping into Bollywood with director Abhinav Kashyap’s Dabangg, and she is all praises for her co-star Salman. “Dabangg was a whole lot smoother process for me because Salman was there as a mentor and guide,” said Sonakshi to a news agency.
“Salman is an amazing co-star to have. Never once did he make me feel like a newcomer. He is always full of inputs, advice and inspiration...He has always pushed me to better myself in every way, be it fitness, acting and even overall personality,” said the young and fresh face Bollywood is looking forward to this September.

Salman and Dus Ka Dum

According to sources,Salman Khan is stuck with bulk dates given to Anees Bazmee for his film, Ready, which starts it shooting on June 18, thus putting Sony's plans of scheduling Dus Ka Dum, Season 3 on hold for the moment. It was expected to be telecasted within two months, but now it might be rescheduled to September or October.

There are further rumours that Salman will be ready to start shoot only if the channel agrees to double his fee from Season Two. He is supposed to have paid Rs 80 lakh per episode for season 2. This time, the figure he is asking for Rs 1.25 crore and Rs 1.5 crore.

An anonymous source from Big Synergy confirms this. "Salman will be paid higher this year because he deserves it. The channel needs his support and his show got them decent ratings," he was supposed to have said. The veterant quizmaster Siddharth Basu from Big Synergy added,"To my knowledge, both Sony and Salman are keen to do the show, and there have been no issues arriving at a commercial understanding,"

Salman Khan, however, confirms that Dus Ka Dum Season 3 will go on air soon."The reason for the success of the show is probably that I am me in the show and not a movie star. That's how I am at home also. You can ask my friends and they will vouch for it. I bring my buddies on the show and we have a blast. Guys like Ajay (Devgn), Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) and Fardeen (Khan), who are otherwise wary of doing interviews, readily appeared on my show. It's a comfortable space. They know they can be real. We are a bunch of happy-go-lucky-boys and that's what connects with the audience. We are as 'aam' (common) as they are," he said.

Not a college student anymore - Salman!

Nobody likes to get old and it is all the more so with film stars. When the aging actors and actresses try to cling to their lover boy and glam girl images, here is someone who prefers doing roles that suit his age. Salman Khan, who still have a fan following as huge as Ranbir or Shahid Kapoor has, said no to a lead role offered by Abhishek Dogra, just because it didn't suit his age. Salman even suggested Abhishek that he cast a younger star instead.

Abhishek said, "I’m earnestly looking forward to work with Salman one day. But I must say I don’t know how to thank him enough for his extremely valuable input to my script.”

Given the fact that his contemporaries Sharukh and Aamir still do college students' roles, it takes a genuine Salman to do what he did.

Is the Veer girl like Katrina?

There have been comparisons between the hot and sexy Katrina and the new face in Veer, Zarine Khan. Salman Khan denies that Zarine resembles Katrina in any way.

Salman said: “Except being fair and having a sharp nose, I don’t see any similarity between them. Give god that credit for not making two people identical.” Talking about how she came to the movie and joined the cast, he says: “The film is of a different genre, so we needed a young fresh look. More than that we needed somebody with a yesteryear look. How our grandmothers and great grandmothers used to look, we needed someone like them."

“Just two weeks were left to start the film and we didn’t have anyone who would fit the role. We were searching left, right and centre and met her by coincidence on the set of Subhash Ghai’s ‘Yuvvraaj’."

Salman Khan tried their best to retain the feel of the eighteenth century

iifa_aw

22 January 2010 will unveil the biggest ever period film in Bollywood - Veer. The makers of the film, especially Salman Khan (the writer and hero of the film), have tried their best to retain the feel of the eighteenth century.

Recently, Veer’s audio launch was held in the city with much gusto, amidst the presence of several biggies of the musicdom.

For the first time ‘Veer’ has brought together the music directors Sajid-Wajid and lyricist Gulzar. Talking about the music, Wajid quoted, “The music of the film is larger than life, it suits the epic era yet is contemporary. The music will definitely be loved. Just like the title of the film it will not disappoint.”

Interestingly, the background scores have been done with a touch of uniqueness. According to sources, for the music none of the songs had electronic audio sound recording. Instead, 50 musicians across India had come together for a live orchestral recording of the film. These musicians perform live shows across the country and were hard to source but the musical team refused to compromise, revealed sources.

“Normally an electronic sound recording is quicker and takes 3 days to the maximum however the songs of Veer took an easy 12 days as it involved major co-ordination and was recorded live,” further said the sources.

Salman - the real life Veer

The title Veer suits Salman perfectly. He actually put his life at stake for the movie. There was a scene that required the hero to run on top of a moving train.

Salman insisted that he will not use a duplicate. He wasn't afraid either! "This tunt was a dangerous one, as one slip and he would have hit the ground and could have been pulled under the train with the speed it was moving in" To add to the suspense on the stes, Salman actually asked for a second take as he felt he could do it better. Midst all this, he never lost his sense of humour, and they he used to lie down on the train until it was time for another take. This is what we call a true hero!

Asin in London Dreams

After her super-duper entry into Bollywood, we all know there's been no looking back for the South Sensation Asin. Her second major release London Dreams opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan is round the corner.

After Ghajini became a landmark hit, several producers approached her and she finally shifted base to Mumbai, to do justice to her career. but here's something that many of us might not know...

Lets hear it from Vipul Shah, "I had seen Asin in a couple of big South films and really liked her work. I was looking for someone who could essay a beautiful Iyer girl, adept at both classical and western dance, and yet look like she's been born and bred in London. I signed her even before the first promo of Ghajini came on television. Taking a newcomer opposite two big stars was a risk, but I was confident of her and followed my instinct. When Ghajini clicked, I knew I had made the right decision."

Asin plays a musician who joins Ajay Devgan's rock band. London Dreams releases worldwide on October 30 and is being distributed internationally by Studio 18.

More facts about Salman on Farah's show

All of us know the handsome hulk who is often in the news for getting into fights, but we didn’t know that the 43-year-old Bollywood star still gets beaten up by his mom, Salma.

"As a child, Salman was very naughty He used to get the most beating...still does," Salma told choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan on her chat show Tere Mere Beech Mein.

When Farah asked "Is it just a pat?", Salman said at once: "Are you mad or what? It comes as such a phatak (tight slap)...I reel under its heavy impact and wonder where it came from! I tell her that how can you beat me mamma, I'm a grown up man now."

Many such secrets were revealed in this show, leaving Salman embarrassed. For instance, she revealed that she still stays up waiting for him at the window till he returns home. Salma said that all her kids tease her for this habit.

"They say that the building doesn't need a watchman with me keeping guard all night," she smiled.

Katrina to act opposite Shah Rukh

Katrina made it quite clear to all that Salman’s enemies are not hers as well. After working with John Abraham in New York, this fact was out in the open.

Despite the fallout between SRK and Salman Khan, she decided to join Shah Rukh on his Temptations tour in 2008. Now, she takes step further by agreeing to act opposite him in a Yash Raj movie to be finalized very soon. Both SRK and Katrina are the most popular actors in the industry and Yash Raj films only thought it appropriate to go ahead with a project with both of them in it. The movie might be directed by either Kabir Khan or Aditya Chopra.

Wonder what Salman has to say about this.

The three actors shooting for their respective films- 'Mehboob'!

1107200

On Sunday, Salman Khan proved that he is Bollywood’s coolest dude. A fact further highlighted by the fact that the situation he was in was enough to give the heebie-jeebies to the most seasoned playboys.

On one side, there was his former girlfriend Aishwarya Rai, whom he had such a torrid affair with that people can’t stop talking about it even today. And on the other side there was Ranbir Kapoor, who has been on more than one occasion linked with Salman’s longtime girlfriend, Katrina Kaif. To everyone’s surprise, Salman was not the least bit perturbed.

The three actors were shooting for their respective films at Mehboob Studios all day on Sunday. While Salman was there for Veer, Aishwarya was shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish and Ranbir was shooting for Yash Raj
Films’ Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year.

Suddenly, the unit of Veer heard that Aishwarya was shooting a stone’s throw away. They, of course, were waiting with bated breath for Salman to lose his cool. However, preferring to stick to his chilled out demeanour, Salman was sprawled on comfy chairs outside his vanity van and was seen chatting with everyone in between shots. He refused to be disconcerted by the fact that Ms Rai, oops! Mrs Abhishek Bachchan, was around.

Surprisingly, Salman stayed away from the sets of Guzaarish even though Aishwarya was shooting with Bhansali, with whom Salman shares an excellent rapport.

While Salman gave a miss to Aishwarya, he showered all his attention on Ranbir. Salman and Ranbir decided to catch up by chatting for almost an hour while taking a break from their respective shoots. If sources are to be believed, the two boys also had lunch together. Salman continued to shoot till 1am for Veer. (TOI)

Salman and SRK speak on Emraan's issue

Emraan Hashmi recently came up quite strongly about the fact that he was denied a flat in Mumbai’s Pali Hill area becaue he is a Muslim.

He went public about the communal bias fiasco. We have muslims ruling Bollywood in Mumbai for years and this is what they had to say: “Emraan Hashmi would not have been Emraan Hashmi if Mumbai was not secular. If communalism existed then Salman Khan would not have been Salman Khan, Aamir not Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh not Shah Rukh Khan. Injustice may have happened to others, but it has not happened to us. I have always got love and support from all quarters.” said Salman Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan also voiced his opinion in this matter, “I have never been treated differently because of my religion. I am 44 years old now and never in my life have I felt discriminated. It is a one-off incident and should not be given too much importance. We are a fast growing nation and the reason for our development is the fact that we have overcome the barriers of religion, castes, class in our hearts and minds. We should not let these small incidents affect us.”

What will Emraan have to say now?

Salman embarrased

During Farah Khan's show Tere Mere Beech Mein, Salman was left thoroughly embarrased, his face totally red, when his mother took over the talking.

Salman's mother Salma Khan was revealing one secret after another about her boy, and Salman didn't know where to look. It got a bit too embarrassing for him when his mom said that, whenever he falls in love with an actress, he wants them to give up everything and become a home-maker. God, now we know why Katrina's avoiding marriage!

Salman could buy her a dollhouse says Asin

In case you missed out on that one, Salman Khan was supposed to have gifted Asin a puupy and a penthouse.

Asin laughs sportingly at the rumor and says: "I don't have a pet and I bought the apartment with my own money. It's not a five-bedroom penthouse. After I read about his fabulous gift, I told Salman that if not a penthouse, he'd now have to give me at least a dollhouse!"

Then there was the PETA story, that she turned down the campaign because she loves meat. "It's been ages since I had non-vegetarian food and PETA didn't approach me. These rumours are too absurd for me to even clarify," she said disappointed. Well, you may try what you like, but this beauty is not going to lose her sleep because of these rumours.

Dus Ka Dum back with Karishma and Kareena!

The first season of Dus Ka Dum has made a great impact on people. Salman’s style of hosting the show, his questions and of course – the celebrities.

We had some fun shows with celebrities like Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Rani Mukherjee, Lara Dutta, Rakhi Sawant, Govinda, Imran Khan along with cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh.

Season two is coming up soon, and this one is coming up with double the zeal. It is really rare to see Karishma and Kareena together on a show – but Dus Ka Dum has done it! The first show is said to have the two Kapoor sisters on the show. They usually don’t agree to make it together but we guess this time it is all because of Salman!

Salman has worked with both of them. With Kareena her has worked only in Kyon Ki so far and will be seen in the upcoming flick main Aur Mrs Khanna. He has given quite a few hits with Karishma in the past.
