Shiney Ahuja shifted to hospital from jail

A day after he complained to the Sewree Sessions Court about his poor health, Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, who is in jail for allegedly raping his maidservant, was shifted to the J J Hospital for treatment on Saturday afternoon.

Shiney Ahuja complained of severe back pain to the Sewree Sessions Court; he was shifted to J J Hospital for treatment on Saturday afternoon. The Bollywood actor, who has been in jail for allegedly raping his maidservant, said that he was unable to sit and suspected that he had a slipped-disc. He was also seen weeping inside the court room apparently due to the pain. His lawyers put forth a plea before the court that he should be shifted to a hospital for treatment.

The sessions court ordered the officials of the Arthur Road Jail, where the actor is lodged, to provide medical treatment and admit him to a hospital if needed. "He complained of severe pain and the jail doctor advised him to be admitted to the hospital for advanced treatment. So he was shifted on Saturday afternoon," Jail officials said.

Ahuja was arrested on June 15 for allegedly raping his maid at his residence in suburban Oshiwara. The sessions court is likely to frame charges against Ahuja on October 7, after hearing the arguments of both sides.
