I am very very glad that an ad we’ve done together has worked out well-MADHAVAN

Actor Madhavan

MADHAVAN may have won the hearts of the audiences with his debut film, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, but his career in Bollywood did not take off the way it ought to have after such a beautifully choreographed musical extravaganza.

How is it that though he is a big name in kollywood, and has some amazing hits to his credit down South, he doesn’t have many Hindi films to his credit? “Yeah, I am not keeping my fans deprived anymore. I will soon start shooting for the film 3 Idiots besides the film Teen Patti alongside Mr Bachchan. I also have this film called Happy New Year with T-Series. There is a film being made on reality television and its impact on our lives,” informs Maddy.

For now, however, this talented actor seems to be winning the audiences with his heart-felt performance in the recently-released film which has the Mumbai bomb blasts as the backdrop. The film earned some rave reviews and is released at a time when the memories of the bomb blasts still continue to haunt the victims. Doesn’t it stoke the embers of their painful memories? Agrees Maddy, “Unfortunately, the film has released at a wrong time when the memories are still fresh in people’s minds.”

And, the film seems to have had a deep impact on him. For, as he continues to talk about it, he suddenly gets into an agitated mode. “I am getting extremely irritated by the passing day. There is a limit to how much a country can take. It is about time we stop taking crap and turn back and bite. We have to be magnanimous about our feelings now. And, I think, it cannot get worse than this,” says he.

Moving over from the film, his chemistry with Vidya Balan is the latest talk of the town. And, he is happy about it. “I am very very glad that an ad we’ve done together has worked out well. And, our chemistry there has led to many movie opportunities featuring the two of us,” says Maddy smiling.

Now, that’s something interesting! What kind of films are these? And, he gives an expected answer. “We are still in the talking stages and cannot really spill any beans right now,” says he in a semi-apologetic tone.

For this actor par excellence, a good story and a great producer are the prime requisites to take up a film. And, between accolades and awards, what does he prefer? “Money!” is Maddy’s frank reply! And, he knows for sure what he is talking about!
