Karishma Kapoor born on 25th June 1974 into Bombay filmdom’s legendary Kapoor family. Her green eyes are the trademark of the Kapoor family. She was the first woman and the fifth generation in the Kapoor’s clan to have green eyes. She made her film debut with Prem Qaidi (1991) opposite Harish. Her next big hit was Anari (1993) and during this time she made news with a fight with her Andaz Apna Apna (1994) co-star, actress Raveena Tandon. She had a series of hit comedies between 1994 and 1997 starting with Raja Babu (1994) and ending with Hero No.1 (1997) with Govinda and director David Dhawan. She hit the big time with the super success of Raja Hindustani (1996) and further consolidated her career with Dil To Pagal Hai (1997). In Fiza (2000), she surprised many with an excellent performance showing great emotional range and depth. She has won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress 1996 for her role as Arthi in Raja Hindustani (1996). Karishma has won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) as also the Filmfare and Zee award in the same category. She was offered Rani Mukherjee’s role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.Formerly engaged to Abhishek Bachchan (2002). Four months after her engagement news of their split came. Then she finally married with Sanjay kapur, a famous industrialist.Making her acting debut with Refugee (2000), for which she won a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award, Kapoor had her first commercial success with her second release, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai (2001).Her performance as a cosmetic beauty in Karan Johar’s drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, which also released that year, was praised and the film turned out to be her biggest commercial success to date. Following this, Kapoor went on to star in several films which were unsuccessful at the box office, and encountered several negative reviews and criticisms for becoming typecast. Trying to reinvent her image, she took on more serious characters and diverse roles, and was soon recognized for her versatility as an actress. Her portrayal of a sex-worker in Chameli (2004) proved to be the turning point in her career and won her the Filmfare Special Performance Award. She was noted for her performances in critically acclaimed films like Dev (2004) and Omkara (2006), and earned two Critics Award for Best Actress at the Filmfare. Despite not having that many hits to her credit, Kapoor has established herself as one of the leading actresses of Bollywood.Yet another Kapoor girl to have made a splash in the Hindi films industry, Kareena Kapoor had the privilege of debuting with Amitabh Bachchan’s son, Abhishekh Bachchan.Although J P Dutta failed to create Border’s magic in Refugee, Kareena shimmered as a talented actress. She was a natural, without heavy make-up, without too many takes. In fact, Refugee doesn’t look like her debut film at all.
