Aamir back with Farhan Akhtar in next venture

Aamir1

After scorching the screens in 2001 with their cult outing “Dil Chahta Hai” (DCH), Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Farhan Akhtar have teamed up again for a suspense drama.

Co-written by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, the movie will be directed by Kagti. It will go on floors in February next year.

The 45-year-old Aamir, who took a break from acting after the release of his blockbuster “3 Idiots” (2009) to concentrate on his home productions “Peepli Live”, “Dhobi Ghat” and “Delhi Belly”, has joined hands again with Farhan and his producer partner Ritesh Sidhwani.

“I found the script written by Reema and Zoya really exciting and I am looking forward to working with Ritesh and Farhan once again,” Aamir said in a statement.

Both Farhan and Ritesh are equally excited to team up with Aamir, who will co-produce it with the duo’s Excel Entertainment.

“It feels great to be collaborating with Aamir a decade after ‘DCH’. We had been hoping to do a film together since then and I’m thrilled that it is finally happening with this script,” said Farhan.

Ritesh said: “I have been waiting to work with Aamir since ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and its finally happening,. It’s special this time as we are also producing it together… I can’t wait to start filming.”

The film is scheduled for a 2011 release.

Genelia D'Souza is busy now

Genelia D’Souza has started shooting for the Hindi version of ’Kaakha Kaakha’, directed by Nishikant Kamat and produced by Vipul Shah.
Genelia has a high profile coming up this weekend, Dhanush starrer ’Uthama Puthiran’.

She tweeted Monday: "Crazy week 4me,nw film strts2day n my tamil film releases in4days,utp is a v.special film n I hope it does wel n dis diwali is truly special...Mornin all,on my way2my 1st day of shoot of ma new film wit john, vipul shahs prod n nishikant ma dir, loved d original, hope I cn keep up 2it."

John wants to act in action movie

After the debacle of “Jhootha Hi Sahi”, Bollywood’s pin-up star John Abraham has decided to focus on mainstream roles. He is currently toning muscles for Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster “Kaakha Kaakha”.
With his last two films “Ashaayein” and “Jhootha Hi Sahi” not doing well, you would think John’s producers are in the process of a serious re-think. Far from being discouraged, the makers are in the process of enhancing the original material.
Director Nishikant Kamat remains unfazed by the performance of John’s films.
“My producer Vipul Shah and I signed John for the ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ remake because we saw him doing the action hero’s part to perfection. So far, no film has tapped that side of him. John will be performing some of the most dangerous stunts ever seen in our film,” he said.
John, 37, has right now halted the shooting of key action sequences in his first full-fledged action film. Apart from Bollywood’s best action director Allan Amin, he has also asked for an action team from South Africa to supervise his stunts.
Confirming this, Kamat said: “We’ll do the action scenes later. I cannot do those loud larger-than-life stunts sequences where the hero beats up 20 adversaries single-handedly.”
“The action in my film has to be in the more realistic yet hardcore commercial space.
It’s a challenge for both me and John. For me, commercial cinema is new. I’ve butterflies in my stomach every time I go on the sets,” he added.
A source close to John says it’s goodbye to experimental characters for the actor.
No more playing against personality for John. No more nerdy or dying characters. It’s muscles and beefcake all the way as the pinup boy acquires an adrenaline-pumping chest-thumping image for his next, said the source.

Kareena and Saif are really strong in their Relationship

saif and kareena1

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are going really strong in their relationship. But there’s something that Kareena loves more than Saif. "I can’t love without food. That’s impossible. I’ll die if I have to live without food even for a day," revealed Kareena at the book launch of Payal Gidwani’s book ’From XL to XS’.

So, does that mean she’ll never even keep a Karva chauth fast? "No, I can’t do anything without food. For me, food is more important than my career. It’s definitely more important than my to-be husband. It should be thousand times more important for all women than their husbands."Bebo is even game for gaining weight and look fat for a film role. "I’d love to because I’ll get to eat whatever I want. Not just for the role, but for eating," she says with a grin. Kareena will next be seen in GOLMAAL 3 which releases this Diwali i.e. November 5.

A small war between Abhi and Ash

aishwarya-rai11

Looks like the honeymoon period for Bollywood’s power couple, Abhi and Ash is over and now the usual husband-wife tiffs have begun to tickle in, where misunderstandings and small fights are a part of everyday routine.

Recently on their way to award ceremony, Kunal Kapoor accompanied them and reportedly Aishwarya got too loud and vocal while Abhishek kept requesting her to keep her voice low.

It’s been heard that Jr. Bachchan wasn’t happy about Ash getting a little loud while they attended the award function and wanted her keep a low profile. But Ash ignored him and continued to be her real self.

This gradually got into Abhi’s mind and by the time they reached their hotel lobby and things got out of control and they had an open discussion regarding the problem. Later, it’s said that Abhishek asked his personal security guards to escort Ash to their room.

Hope the storm has died down now.

Abhishek Bachchan has signed for R.Balki again

Sometimes, repeating a winning formula makes sense. R Balki, the man who made Paa, at least believes in this statement. Apparently, the director is all set to make another film with Abhishek Bachchan. But, the winning formula will be tweaked a bit. There will be no Amitabh Bachchan and no Vidya Balan in his next venture. The film touches upon a new genre which is why the others have been excluded.

Our source said, “Balki was to start a film with Amitabh Bachchan but he has a script which suits the image of Abhishek perfectly. So he has dropped the idea of making the film with Sr. Bachchan for now and will start his film with Abhishek next year. Balki is not willing to reveal the subject of the film right now and the project is being kept hush-hush.”

The source added, “This film will also exclude Vidya Balan and she will not be starring opposite Abhishek. Balki will be looking at other leading actresses for the role.”

Bipasha Basu has signed for first international project

Bipasha-Basu1

After sizzling on Bollywood screen for almost a decade, dusky beauty Bipasha Basu has signed her first international project -- English-French director Roland Joffe’s "Singularity".
The 31-year-old is extremely excited and admits she does have butterflies in her stomach.
"I am very excited...but have to admit that I am also a little nervous. Everything happened really fast," Bipasha told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
Bipasha met Joffe in a chance encounter at the Taj Land’s End Hotel in Mumbai in September.
The $33 million movie, written by Ajey Jhankar, is a riveting tale of an impossible love set across two time periods and continents.
It is set in the backdrop of the First Anglo-Maratha War of the 18th century and revolves around four characters - a British officer in colonial India and the Indian woman he falls in love with, an American marine biologist and his researcher lover -- who gets trapped in a wrecked British merchant ship.
The film will be shot in Australia and India. Bipasha will be flying to Brisbane in the first week of November.
Bipasha, who will be missing Diwali for the initial rehearsals for the film, says she would have loved to get some more time to prepare for her role.
"I am not getting much of preparation time right now. I have been given just eight days to prepare for underwater scenes and horse riding...I wish I had at least a month’s time for preparation," she said.
As much as she would have liked to, Bipasha is also not getting much time to brush up on her history.

"There is just no time before I fly out! I have finished all my pending endorsement assignments and now I will try and grasp whatever I can there itself," she said.
Nevertheless, she is looking forward to working with Hollywood actors.
"The script is fantastic. They have a lot of expertise in their field...it’s going to be a whole lot of hard work, and it’s going to be great fun to adapt to their system of working," she said.
"Singularity" also stars Bollywood actor Abhay Deol besides Hollywood stars Chris Pine, Josh Hartnett, Olga Kurylenko, Christopher Egan and Shane Briant, among others.
Bipasha will shoot from the third week of November till the last week of December in Brisbane.
Her upcoming Indian projects include "Dum Maaro Dum" and Abbas-Mustan’s "Players".
Bipasha is glad that Abbas-Mustan, who gave her a launchpad with 2001 film "Ajnabee", were accommodating enough to adjust their dates so that she could give her nod to "Singularity".
The film is tentatively slated for a 2011 release.
