Actress Rekha has signed for Rajinikanth’s Animation Movie

Kollywood super star Rajinikanth’s upcoming animation movie Rana. The multilingual film which is made in Kollywood and Bollywood is actually supposed to make use of the concept of live animation. Of later on there were reports stating that Bollywood Actress Deepika Padukone and Asin playing his leading girls, but it is revealed that it’s Deepika who received the offer.

As Super Star is representing triple role in the film, he requires totally 3 heroines it appears.

Based on latest reports Super Star desires to have yester years charm and performing actress Rekha to be one of his leading ladies in the movie. Previously this character was offered to Dance Diva Madhuri Dikshit but she rejected to accept for personal life commitments.

Well it isn’t the first time that Rekha and Rajinikanth are working together. Earlier they were seen in BULANDI, though not as a couple.

Therefore Rekha grants confirmation on her participation in the film, then the problem is who will be the 3rd celebrity to play with this ‘God of South’!

Rekha will put her life into a book

Another actress who is going to put her life in a book is the glamour queen Rekha. There are many others who have done it so far, and Rekkha will join the list of Dev Anand, Vyjayanthimala, the late Balraj Sahni and Sanjay Dutt.

Sanjay Dutt has named his autobiography 'The Lion Roars.' When Dev Anand wrote his book named 'Romancing With Life', people were a little disappointed as the facts there were tamed down and the author had avoided putting down several controversies. Now we are wondering whether Rekha will also do the same.
Here's what we already know...she wants to talk about all the people who have helped her shape her life, beginning with her mother, who she felt loved her the most.

Shilpa Shetty's spa launched by Rekha

Shilpa Shetty fulfilled her childhood dream of having a spa and none other than ageless beauty and fitness personified, Rekha did the honours. Rekha launched IOSIS Medispa on Sunday at Mumbai.

"I had to think of who was going to do the grand launch and couldn't come up with a better name than the diva herself - someone who is synonymous with timeless beauty and wellness. So I approached (the one and only) Rekhaji," shared Shilpa on her blog.

"I've always looked up to her as an actor, role model for constant reinvention. We share a very special bond and have always been in touch with each other. I think it's the South Indian connection. When I asked her to grace the occasion, she agreed and I was ecstatic," she added.

This spa is started in partnership with entrepreneur Kiran Bawa, well-known in beauty and wellness industry. Explaining about the spa, Shilpa said: "Being part of an industry where beauty is a pre-requisite, I learnt from my own mistakes and this experience gave me the opportunity to reinvent myself. When people ask me how I did it, their questions will be answered through Iosis."

"I hope that Iosis medispa works as a catalyst in bettering people's lives at an affordable cost. Kiran and I share one common vision - Wellness India. We are both on the threshold of a new beginning and hope people enjoy the services that are provided here because they've been put together with a lot of love and thought," she added.

The medispa will be a fusion of four - styling, spa, salon and skin treatments. Every treatment will be under the supervision of trained professionals.

Bollywood actress Rekha lit the ceremonial lamp and China's "Warlords" was screened

The 39th International Film Festival of India (IFFI-2008) was inaugurated here Saturday as legendary Bollywood actress Rekha lit the ceremonial lamp and China's "Warlords" was screened as the opening film.
The inaugural lamp was lit with the assistance of Telugu actress of Goan origin Illina D'Cruz.
Actress Amrita Rao hosted the star-studded inaugural function at the Kala Academy in the presence of Goa Governor S.S. Sidhu, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and External Affairs Anand Sharma and Goa Chief Minister Digambar V. Kamat as well as a number of Bollywood legends.


Sharma that as the curtain rises from the 39th edition of the festival, it brings together the film professionals from India and abroad on one platform to recognize the excellence in cinema, and creativity and dedication of hundreds of people who are involved in making films.
He said cinema is a powerful medium of connecting people within a society, nation and continent.
Noting that films are a powerful way of conveying a message and have great ability of influencing masses, Sharma said this, therefore, imposes a great responsibility on everyone associated with the film industry to look at how to use the power of cinema to do good for society through the portrayal of attitudes that help in building tolerant and harmonious societies.
The Indian film industry is believed to be the largest in the world - producing over 1,000 films a year in different languages.
"At a time when every sector of our economy is being influenced and in most cases taking the benefits of the currents of globalization, our film industry can utilize this opportunity too," the minister added.
He assured the film fraternity of all possible support from the government to promote good cinema.
Festival director S.M. Khan announced that in the section of the Cinema of the World, 65 films from more than 40 countries will be screened.
In the Film India Worldwide segment of the International programming, "Tandoori Love" (Switzerland), "Death without Consent" (US) and "Barah Aana and Chaurasta - Cross Roads of Love" (India) will be presented.
A specialized competition for feature films from Asia, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Africa is being organized. Two Indian entries - S. Priyadarshan's Tamil film “Kanchivaram” and Ramesh Laxman More's acclaimed Marathi film “Mahasatta” - have been selected in the competition section along with 13 other films chosen from Bangladesh, Russia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Iran, Philippines, Argentina, China and Japan.
There are three Country Focuses this year - Russia, Switzerland and Iran.
The Foreign Retrospectives are on films of Aki Kaurusmaki (Finland), John Landis (US) and Wong Kar Wai (Hong Kong).
Eight restored heritage film classics are there in the Film Heritage - Thematic “Women” section. Besides there will be a special tribute to Niki Karimi, Khan said.
The Indian programming at IFFI-2008 would be under seven different segments with screening of 83 films, besides the Indian Panorama section wherein 26 feature and 21 non-feature films will be screened.
The Indian programming would have a retrospective of legendary director Bimal Roy and L.V. Prasad.
Under the Lifetime Classics, "Mughle-e-Azam", "Hum Aapke Hai Kaun", "Dil Ek Mandir", "Anbe Vaa", "Kittur Channamma" and "Kabuliwala" will be screened.
Peter Chan, Marco Mueller, Niki Karimi, Lav Diaz and Tabassum Hashmi, the jury members of the competition section, were felicitated during the inaugural function.
