IPL Awards is the next big thing happening after IPL season 3. The best players and performances of Indian Premeiere League will be honoured in the star studded Award night at Grand Hyatt in Mumbai, on April 23.

This award nite will be a perfect blending of cricket and entertainment, with many stars from Indian film industry like A.R Rahman, Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan set to perform.

Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar will be the hosts for the Awards nite.

“This star-studded award ceremony will see the superstars of Bollywood and cricket get together to make it the Oscars of the cricketing world. Celebrating sportsmanship, the viewers will be in for colourful treat as IPL champions get felicitated for their performance through the series,” Ashvini Yardi, programming head of Colors Channel said.

“It will be one of its kind and fitting celebration with lots of exciting performances and brilliant surprises to conclude this year’s IPL action,” Yardi added in a press release.

There are 22 categories in which awards will be given. This includes batting, bowling, fielding, most stylish player, best stadium and commentator etc. Apart from these there are IPL Jury Awards, Viewers’ Choice Awards, Statistical Awards, IPL Captain’s Awards and IPL Winners Award.

I don't have as much money as Shah Rukh - says Amitabh

Amitabh Bachchan said on a TV program recently, "I don't have as much money as Shah Rukh. He has money and so he owns a team.”

This was for a celebrity chat show ‘Kahiye Janab’ on Zee News, during a conversation on the IPL.

Amitabh also sent a congratulatory SMS to Dhoni, on receiving Padma Shri but did not get a response. But he holds no grudge against the star cricketer. "He must have been busy, there's no need to make an issue out of this."

Preity is single

We are all quite well updated if we know that Preity has broken up with co-owner of her team Ness Wadia.

When asked she confirmed: “I’m not dating anyone right now. If I did, I wouldn’t hide it. But whatever the status of my heart, I’m certainly not the kind of person who would send out emails to people about my love life.” There was also a rumor which said that she had informed her team members about the break up. She was quite annoyed with that as it was not true.
She continued: “I will never date a married man or an actor. That rule for my heart is still applicable. To that I’ve added one more group of people who are taboo territory to my heart - Cricketers. Going by my mantra of never mixing my personal life with my professional interests, I’ll never date a cricketer either. One doesn’t go out with people whom one works with; it’s as simple as that.”

Shah Rukh back from IPL

Disheartened by the dismal performance of Kolkata Knight Rider's performance in IPL, Shah Rukh Khan is back in Mumbai. He casted his vote and is also looking forward to the upcoming wedding season. Shah Rukh as always, is in great demand even this season.

Shah Rukh Khan has supposedly bagged the offer for performing in the wedding of famous builder Kanti Govani's nephew. Initially, Akshay Kumar had got the offer, but King Khan replaced him as as Akshay quoted a high figure. Sources say that Rani Mukherjee, Bipasha Basu and Celina Jaitley will also be performing with Shah Rukh. They say his fee is between 3 and 4 crores. And there's more lined up for SRK. He will get down to planning a party for Hollywood star Gerard Butler who's visiting Priyanka Chopra.

Shah Rukh had to send his cheerleaders back

Shah Rukh Khan had to unfortunately his Kolkata Knight Riders cheer leaders back.

The six girls Sanna, Samyukta, Ritika, Ananya, Sunanda and Rupali were selected after a grueling process that was closely covered by the hyped reality show on NDTV Imagine called Knights and Angels. They were bluntly told that the crowd preferred South African cheerleaders on the field.
The girls have also not received their payment, which will reach them only after Shah Rukh comes back from his South Africa tour. SRK tried his level best to get his girls onto the field but could not make it.

Shah Rukh Khan in trouble for smoking

Shah Rukh Khan was telecast smoking on TV, during one of the IPL matches. As expected, this made the anti-smoking group turn against this.

The National Organization for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) has issued a statement to South African National Council against Smoking (NACS) to ask the official broadcasters of IPL to not to telecast any footage of people or celebrities smoking.
NCAS’s convener, Peter Ucko said: “If Khan does it again we will ask the management to caution him, or we will seek his removal from the stadium....We have also asked the stadium management to make no smoking announcements through the match and during drinks breaks.”

Well, for Shah Rukh Khan, this is real tough to handle! The tension is rising with KKR not doing too well will surely tempt him to smoke…how will he handle this?!

Hrithik has no time for IPL

Here’s some disheartening news for all Hrithink fans out there…
There was a rumor that the most handsome macho-man of Bollywood Hrithik will be around during the Indian Premiere League this year, but that’s not the case.

His spokesperson from Carving Dreams has clarified that he won’t be a part of the IPL this year.
“We were all surprised when we heard recent media reports of Hrithik being a part of the Rajasthan Royal's video or its promotion, the news is absolutely untrue. He has been busy shooting for his home production ‘Kites’ which still has one short schedule pending and has hence excused himself from all IPL promotions this year.”
