The Bachchans were very nervous about the fate of Sarkar Raj even as the film was being premiered at IIFA in Bangkok. The film was important for Abhishek Bachchan’s career.
Says a source, “Sarkar Raj was very crucial film for Abhishek and so even as the film was being premiered at IIFA they were anxious as to how the film will be received. All the friends and well-wishers of the Bachchan family were constantly monitoring the feedback and checking the reviews on the sites, tabloids etc.”
Adds the source, “The Bachchans were in contact with Sarkar Raj distributors like Balaji Motion Pictures, Eros, Adlabs to get the reactions. Also Ram Gopal Verma waited a while longer to check how the film is doing in India before flying to Bangkok. Ekta Kapoor was very pleased with the reviews and Abhishek’s best friend Goldie Behl too appreciated the film.”
A source from Balaji tells us, “Though the Bachchans were nervous, we were confident about the film doing well. The Bachchans were in contact with us as they were keen to know how we are distributing the film.”
Well, whether Sarkar Raj will prove to be a turning point in Abhishek’s career only time will tell.
