Aditya Chopra to pair up Sonam Kapoor and King Khan

As it is Aditya Chopra and Shahrukh Khan coming together after a gap of 8 long years for ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ is enough to arouse interest and to add icing to the cake is the fact that SRK’s heroine is none other than the sweet and perfectly poised Sonam Kapoor.

The film will have SRK play a 40 plus man who falls in love with a sweet 16 Punjabi girl. Aditya wanted a perfect Punjabi Kudi for the role, fluent in Punjabi as well as tall, fair and of course one who could exude the charm of a 16 year old girl. He auditioned many before zeroing in on Sonam. On the other hand, SRK happened instantly with he being the first choice for Aditya and the former giving his nod before even reading the script.

Must say, Sonam has had good luck charms on her side in this world of glamour industry. She started with SLB in ‘Saawariya’, then Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Dilli 6’ opposite Abhishek happened and if this works out perfectly, the next feather to her cap will be Aditya Chopra’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ opposite King Khan. What more could a newcomer ask for?

Rimi Sen’s unfair game of squash

Now, this one really shows the darker side of the stars who instantly take success to their heads. Talking about Rimi Sen and her starry airs, the gal had enrolled her name to take part in the Celebrity Squash Tournament, but very abruptly refused to take part later when she got to know that her opponent is not a very known celeb, but just a character actor.

However, her opponent, actor Vikrant Chaudhury is not ready to take it lying down and retorts, “See, big stars always want to get involved in things which is been covered by the media. Rimi would have participated in the competition thinking that other Bollywood personalities would also have been participating and in the process, the tournament would have got media attention. But seeing that the players involved were mostly from television world have irked her and she decided to give me a walkover”.

Vikrant who portrayed the role of the CBI officer Naveen in the recently released Subhash Ghai’s Black and White says, “I was even ready to give her nine handicap points in a game of eleven, then too she didn’t want to play the match.”

Vikrant sure is very hurt and he should be, isn’t it?

Supreme Court of India acquitted Richard Gere of Obscenity Charges

On March 14, 2007 in a verdict, Supreme Court of India stayed arrest warrant issued against Hollywood Star Richard Gere for publicly kissing Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty during a event held for HIV- AIDS awareness programme in New Delhi on 16th April, 2007 under Obscenity Act.

This public kissing offended the feelings of the Hindu hardliners- who- alleged pair of being maligning India’s conservative culture. Consequently an Indian judge issued an arrest warrant against Gere and summoned Shetty, however summons against Shetty was suspended later on. Gere who is a die-hard devout Buddhist is deeply involved in act of charities in India related to HIV and Orphans.

Katrina Kaif is sure going through a creamier phase of her life. With 4 hits last year (Namstey London, Apne, Partner and Welcome), the journey continues for the lady. Being too lucrative an offer, Kats has apparently accepted it and has allotted around ten days for the film in the month of May.

Parag Desai, the media consultant of Shree Ashtavinayak confirmed having signed Katrina for ‘Blue’ but didn’t really confirm or deny the amount paid. In fact he even said that Katrina has a proper role in the film and not just an item number.

“The secret of my beauty is water” Hema Malini

New Delhi, (IANS) Hema Malini, Bollywood’s Dream Girl, Wednesday revealed the secret of her beauty - water.

“The secret of my beauty is water,” Hema Malini told IANS. “I drink a lot of water.”

The MP was in the capital to launch advertisement campaigns for a company’s water purifier system featuring the actor and her daughters Ahana Deol and Esha Deol.

Hema Malini earlier told reporters: “I also do ‘pranayam’, yoga, stretching and exercise to stay fit. I also take lots of milk and milk products. In fact, all homemakers like me must dedicate at least one hour to themselves.

“I know all of them would instantly give an excuse that they do not get time. In that case they must get up one hour early and do yoga to avoid problems like joint pains.

“Also, women must set a target for themselves that they would not gain weight beyond a certain point. They must become a vegetarian but fast twice in a week. It helps one know the body better.”

She spoke glowingly about her daughters.

“It was interesting to work with the kids (daughters). Although, we stay together at home, working collectively was great fun! I am looking forward to do more work with them.”
