A.R.Rahman figured the 100 most trusted Indians listing

Rahmania escalates and touches a new peak as the nation salutes the genius of the "Mozart of Madras" and reposes faith in his irrepressible talent.

’100 Most Trusted Indians’ List
In a recent survey and listing of the 100 most trusted Indians conducted by Reader’s Digest, A. R. Rahman figured among the top ten! Placed a glittering No: 5 position, Rahman has managed to zoom ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (no: 7) and cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar (no: 8)!!

25th Filmfare Award!
Two glorious Oscars, two golden Grammys and a truckload of honours bagged in the wake of ’Slumdog Millionaire,’ apart, it’s yet raining awards in the Rahman backyard. At the recent 55th Filmfare awards convened at Mumbai, the Chennai composer pocketed his 25th Filmfare award for his feisty score in ’Delhi 6’! Incidentally, his Filmfare tally of 25 for a single artiste remains unbeaten, as yet.

NDTV’s Indian of the Year 2009
He deservedly bagged the NDTV ’Music Icon’ of the Year for his sterling contribution to music. His film scoring career took off in the early 1990s and he’s the proud possessor of a BAFTA award and a Golden Globe in addition to four national awards and several other coveted honours. And yet, simplicity has always been the mainstay of this tuneful luminary.
